Red Angus

Can anyone explain to me how the addition of the Red Angus to Cattle Registries was handled? Were they added right into the same registry as the black angus, or was a special arrangement made? Thank you Anita

In the US Red Angus and blk Angus have seperate registries and breed associations. As I understand the blk Angus registry, a Red cannot be registered but a black with a red gene can be and is indicated to be a red carrier. In the rest of the world reds and blacks are registered together.
