I enjoy live contests followed by carcass contest.
For the most part the live judges do a very good job.
BUT there are always a couple that stood in the bottom 1/3 of the live class that go on to hang in the top 1/3 in the carcass contest.
Makes me feel good for the exhibitor when his steer is vindicated by the carcass contest when live judge made a sizable mistake.
Even have seen reserve grand champion live not hang in top 10 carcass and the occasional disqualification from carcass contest due to skeletal age.

We had many championships throughout the day. All were animals listed above.

Our breeding program is based on quality functional cattle, that perform in many aspects of the industry.

We like them to look good doing it.
