I think I got it.

Does anyone spray the scrotum with anything to sanatize it before castratin? We never have..but saw it mentioned before somewhere.

I'd stick to the old fashioned knife if I were you. If what you saw in the store is an emasculator then you risk more bleeding if the testicular artery gets cuts sharply before the teeth can crush the tissue.

I think you are correct. I always like to investigate and understand. The testicular artery would be my biggest concern with that tool.
