I just picked up a couple nice looking hereford heifers. They were last springs calves and will be ready to breed may/june. I decided i would like to ai them to a good hereford bull and was going to see if anyone knew of a hereford ai sire with a really low BW since they are heifers.

In the Hereford EPD's there is a CED (Calving Ease Direct) which as I understand it is more accurate than just looking at birth weights. Most popular AI sires should have the CED epd posted. Good luck.

Someone promised me pics of Durango offspring, but I can't remember who it was. It wasn't you perhaps?

No sir, the only time I've seen many offspring was the NJW sale catalog. Mead has one cow that they are using as a donor out of 4037, but if it were up to me I don't know if she would be there.

never had any problems calving to Legend, the 719T bull in Genex looks good, tried to buy him as a yearling but he flew too high for a crossing bull for me.

That went over my head, explain?

That is one of the reasons I have stayed away from Durango. 29Fis not known for improving udder quality. But the guys selling show heifers have made a lot of money off of him.

i had to read it in the canadian digest almost 4 months after it was published in the american journal.... but hiney had an article about this very aspect of the industry. i wonder if he reads these forums - if he/they do.... keep reminding folks or can I do an editorial in the magazine!

We have a great heifer bull,he is polled and quite a female producer. He really is full of muscle and was a real traveling kind of bull. His name and # is WR C8 Warrior 17L 309 Reg # is P42431305. We don't baby anything so all his calves here were index'd against all of our calves and mostly he was used on yearling heifers. Just a thought. We owned him with John Holden.

good bull... i took a look at your operation, nice outfit good cattle

Really I don't feel that I know enough about either one to steer you either way. If I were in your shoes and wanted to make some baldies that would be the nucleus of a commercial herd I'd give Kevin a call at Sandhill and CK ranch or Upstream for 3027. I've heard several people on here say that the progress cows are really nice with solid udders, but haven't heard enough to sway me on 3027. I really like him but worry that he may produce cattle with to much hair for my environment as it is fairly humid here. If you're serious about those two bulls though I wouldn't hesitate to spend some time on the phone.
