Looking for a good one. Most show some age, and may not have been cleaned up as well as they could have been.
What are the key areas to check, and can the flights on rusted fertilizer augers be built up or do they have to be replaced?

Tractorhouse and ebay.

I bought one on ebay for $1,800 a couple of years ago. It turned out to be a pretty good planter.

I never thought about building up the augers. We rebuild our drilling augers and you have to be a pretty good welder to run a beed down the flights. It would also require a lot of time to build them up. It might be easier to just adjust the fertilizer drive chain to get the setting that you want.
