We've raised Charolais since the late 60's and have always bred our replacement heifers at 11-13 months of age with no conception problems. We start calving in mid January and are 99% done by March 15th, cows and heifers both. I agree with 2H, you can't overlook the maternal traits in our breed, or any other, if you want to stay in the cattle business.
