"Hereford Verified is about more than product traceability. The program provides the market information and premiums without the risk of owning cattle through harvest." -Craig Huffhines.

Any opinions from anyone who has read and/or studied this program?

All I have read is the association spin; but it sounds like in 4 or 5 years some aggressive Hereford breeders (particularly ones who can get their regular bull customers to participate and share the info) should have mountains of data to sort through. Now how this will translates into genetics choices or type cattle selected down the road, I have no idea.

I think it has something to do with tracing animals from birth to death and every where they go and do. Also, I think that it is some type of ear tag device. Take care. :cboy:

Looks like a good program if you can come up with 50,000 lbs of the same sex, uniform weight cattle that meet the live animal requirements for CHB.

There was a several page article in HW. As I understand it, small breeders can pool resources to meet the minimum requirements.

"Hereford Verified was created to fulfill many producer, feeder, packer and CHB LLC needs including supply assurance, supply growth, quality assurance and source, age and breed verification." -Jim Williams, CHB vice president of supply. Emphasis mine.
