It seemed to me that the breed hit its popularity in the late 90's. Glorified dairy cattle. 
I saw a few bull calves on test in Manitoba and didn't see them as being anything fantastic. Lots of baby fat as calves and then slimmed out as yearlings. The fancy looking Hays show cows didn't look any better then some of our best 3/4 Herf, 1/4 Holstein cows. :cowboy:
