I have sum angus cattle that gave birth within the last couple of months. My ? is this, while checking on them yesterday i noticed a few of the calves where grazing grass. Now i thot calves didnt wean until severel hundered lbs/months of age? Not saying that their not still nursing, but i didnt think they would b grazing this young??

Normally a calf will start grazing/eating hay by the time they're a week to 10 days old and will be working at chewing their cud, even though their rumen isn;t working and they don;t really have a cud to chew

yes calves start grazing at a very young age.ive got a bottle baby that was grazing at 2 or 3wks of age.

They couldn't sustain themselves with just grazing at that age, at least not to grow out like you want them to, but they are learning how to graze and getting their rumen going for the future.
