My point is that not everyone can or should be defined by an affiliation with a political party. There are plenty of gray areas where both party agendas don't line up perfectly with an individuals beliefs. There are a lot of things that I don't agree with, and many of the things you mention, I honestly do agree with you about. I do consider myself to be a Christian, I am pro life, I do believe in the individuals right to bear arms. I do not support desecrating flags, or rewriting history to suit the whims of the day.
I do not believe that things are always as they seem, and everyone has the right to decide for themselves what is right for them, even if I may think they are wrong.
From what I have seen both parties have held up legislation for political interests. One side however has consistently pushed for more aid, but some choose to not see that.
As to giving raises and dollars beyond belief to entities that do not have our interests at heart, hate to tell you but both sides are experts at that. The reason we are in the position as country that we are in is because both parties are in the pockets of special interests. The lobbyists for corporate entities and special interests are the ones who benefit from legislation. Individual voters only really matter at election time.
