does having a calf on delay heat

same here..i throw some pellets out a cpl times a week cuz im too lazy ( and im a one man show) to do a roundup..keeps em comin in for a look at em...

i run the bull all yr..i have some that calf on the money ..some that calf at 14 mos...i only got 20 cows. if i culled as hard as you id hardly ever have any..be like a revolving door round here...

Before estrus sync was around they would pull the calves off for 48 hours. The biofeedback would bring a bunch into heat. Biggest drawback is the scours a lot of the calves got after glutting all that milk afterwards. I doubt anyone does it much anymore.

We also do this when we are on a part of the ranch isn't too remote to have a set of corrals when we start breeding. It seems to tighten up the calving window and does work. Never had too much trouble with scours out of it but the calves are all vacc'ed for that already.
