Whats an old loader like this worth in good shape ? 75% undercarriage . Looking to build some roads to my property . Was this model in particular known to be a good one ? And ballpark whats one worth in good shape ?

10k depends on condition. Also for building roads a blade would be better than a loader.

Depends if it's had any major repairs done recently. If it's average for its age with 75% u/c it's worth about 15k. If it's really slick and had a lot of work done, it could be worth 20 or even 25k. If your going to own 1 machine for doing different things a track loader is the best way to go in my opinion.

The 977L was an excellent model, and there are still plenty in use. For clearing, it would be hard to beat. For the road itself, a motor grader would be far preferable. With a 75% bottom and a solid drive train, $20K would be a decent buy, and you can usually get your money back. If you want to raise your comfort level, pull oil samples from all compartments, and take them to your nearest Cat dealer. Beyond that, just check for blow by and run it all the way out in forward and reverse. A 977L is a very versatile machine, but is really at home in clearing and loading trucks. Good luck!
