I have a cow that should calve inlate march today i saw the bull mount her and she stood for him is this normal?

No. Not if she's bred.

And just how do you know she was bred in the first place?

Bez!

hmm well if her bag is getting bigger, and shes getting a bit on the "floppy" side , then she is pregnant, and ready to calve. On the other hand, if the bull is still jumping her, then most likely not.

hold it guys.yes its rare to see a bull mounting a bred cow.but it does happen.an it doesnt mean that the cow is open.if you doubt weather she is bred id palpate her an see.

It's not the bull mounting it's the cow standing that suggests she's open

dun

well like ive said.ive seen bred cows stand for the bull.a little thing called false heat.

before a cow calves the progesterone levels drop and estrogen spikes. Estrogen also spikes during heat causing bulls to get confused. If she is real close to calving it IS normal behavior. Not to criticize but why is she with the bull if she is already bred?
