I have borrowed my friends Angus bull. I put him with my girls on August 18th and plan on having him until November 15th when he will need him back.

My question is one 2nd calf cows calved very late (for my season) September 7th. How quickly will she start to cycle back through? I would like her to get pregnant and be before the bull leaves because it will be off cycle and not really any way for me impregant her for a year.

Do you think I will have enough time?

We had one that bred back 2 weeks after calving but normally 30-45 days

I'd think about doing a 7 day synch protocol on her starting around the 14th Oct. Pull her calf for two/three days and see if you can't bring her into estrus around the 21st Oct. That would give her a bit past 40 days postpartum. I'd also ensure she's getting extra energy and some protein to help rebuild the uterus. If she stands on the 21st she likely will come back in before Nov 15th and she gets two attempts to be successful.
