Specifically regarding the "good people on both sides" comment. It has always been my interpretation that he was referring to people who didn't want to see the statues come down as those "good people", and he definitely condemned neo-nazis at the same time. I believe the media twisted that into him saying being some very fine white supremacists. I don't think wanting to preserve our history is equatable to supporting white supremacy.

He did not condemn the neo-nazis until 2 full days later.

After 1/20/2021 we will be saying President Bloomberg

Seriously Hurley, did you hear what he said about "stop and frisk"?

Not a Bloomberg fan, but it's not like we don't have a precedent already for electing racists to the presidency.

You talking about Lyndon Johnson??

Sure. We have a long history of racist presidents from both parties. Current one included.

Socialist Bernie aside, you really think America is willing to let a capitalist Jew into the White House? I very much doubt that.

Just one party was the one of slavery, founded the KKK, passed the Jim Crow laws, poll tax and anti-segregation.
I will let you guess. Their past uniform of choice was white today it's black, that's the only change. Today as 150 years ago they look to intimidation and violence to achieve their political goals. The part that is not comprehensible is people keep following the ideology. The power of envy and greed through the promise of redistribution should never be underestimated. It fueled the ideology that brought us the Great Society to keep the elite in power. The views of the 60's was repackaged after reconstruction reorganization of the Woodpecker Jaybird war.

Democrats were the party of slavery and white supremacy, yes. Your history lesson fails to take into account more recent happenings. Johnson signed the civil rights act in 1964, marking a shift in party alignment. Racist southern whites, who had historically been supporters of the democrats, were disenfranchised. The Republican party took note of this and began appealing to racists in order to expand their voting base. Eventually the Republicans took on the mantle of the party of the white south and racism.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy

This isn't a liberal conspiracy theory, Republican strategists who implemented it have spoken openly about it.

Any supporter of the party of partial-birth and late term abortion has lost all moral authority to preach to me about perceived racism either now or in the past.

You think I'm wrong about one issue, therefore I can't be right about anything else? I think abortion is awful, but I don't think it should be illegal for the same reasons that I don't believe in banning guns, alcohol, marijuana, prostitution, etc. Blanket bans on products and services don't work when demand exists. Providing free contraceptives and childcare would do more to prevent abortion than a ban ever could. Women aren't going out and having late term abortions for fun. They can be a medical necessity.

I'll never forget the time I met LBJ's twin brother at a restaurant in Uvalde, Tx in 1982.

I am not catching the sarcasm here.
If I remember correctly LBJ's younger brother was a flunky on the payroll.

No sarcasm, I didn't really meet him or talk to him, he was sitting across from me at another table and I could hear him talking to the others at his table and he looked and sounded exactly like LBJ and I was thinking this man is LBJ's twin brother and I continued thinking that for a long time. It was years later I found out LBJ didn't have a twin brother.

Being the former, and not the latter, I am OK with it.

Yeah you were actual listening to the real LBJ one of the ones that helped get electricity and water and phones to the rural area with loans that were paid back to be used again and again. Really great when a socialist really think and do for what is the good for America.
