Bermuda grass experiment

Help Support CattleToday:

Is world feeder any good, and is there patent still on? Does anyone know the answer to either?

My choice for northern bermudagrass would be in this order:
1. Ozark - Most cold tolerent, Most production.
2. Tifton 44 or Midland 99 - About equal in cold tolerence. Tifton 44 may produce a little more. All are hybrids and have to be sprigged. Would not consider any others. Even if the seeded varieties would survive, they could not come close to matching the production of these 3 provided you get enough rainfall and properly fertilize.

That midland 99 is what I'm leaning towards. I would do Vaughn's # 1 but there's a big start up fee. I have also decided to plant an acre. That way maybe I can square bale it, and get a better feel for the production it's going to make. I also maybe able to get enough bales to winter some of my horses who knows. An acre want be much more work than the plot I was planning on.
