fastest I've ever travelled on land is 175mph on a bike (280kph).. it's freaky fast, and the wind tries to pull you off your bike by the helmet straps no matter how tucked down you are.. Had to do it once!

Those Koenigsegg cars are totally insane, and they have some amazing technology.. Camless valve control, etc... Look it up on youtube for some interesting watching.
