Angus Tail end changing color?

I have had this 3 year old registered black angus cow for a few years and noticed lately that two to three inches of hair at the end of her tail is turning color to gray/white. Another cow's tail is turning light brown. Both are EXT daughters. Are they missing something in terms of nutrition? Or is this just dead hair?

Black cattle that start turning redish brown usually are Copper deficient. Other than that, can't help.

to my understanding, cows with this problem have urinated on that part of the tail excessively.

Could be the sun bleaching out the hair.

We have several gray tailed cows. Don't know why.....just long and gray.....?

that made me laugh. maybe the cows are gettign to old so their hair is turing gray like people. no bu tit is usualy because they are copper deficent
