Here are some that I'm looking at for our heifers posted on another thread. I've picked out a couple of favorites what do ya'll think?

Ya'll have more input on attitudes from different bloodlines than I do. We like QUIET bulls, I firmly believe its how you raise them but if ya'll see any of these that raises a eyebrow plz let me know. If you know of any others not mentioned on the other thread, by all means let us know.

Actually, I really like your list. Except I would strike of Preeminent immediately and would have to mark solution off of my personal list. We tried preeminent on some cows a couple years ago and have not been too impressed. They just don't grow. And for solution I just am not convinced that he sires enough thickness for my tastes. I used BT Crossover 758N on my heifers this year. I think the Net Present Value bull would be my favorite off of your list. But you also have to account for the breeding of your females and what you are trying to accomplish.

If you are breeding heifers and you like good temperment, ease of calving and good udders, you can't beat Rito 6I6. Or go to the Ohlde website and take your pick. We have a couple of homers and mitchells that came very easily and bounced right up to nurse.

Ever considered TC Freedom 104 his calves gain real good and have a sleeper disposition. Ive sold his bull calves for 2 years now with everybody saying the same thing about how gentle they are.

Freedom's calves are good tempered, but the ones I've had are a little heavier on the birth weight, I personally wouldn't use him for heifers, there are a lot safer choices.

I like #4 and #5. #2's back looks weak and he seems to pass that trait to his offspring. If your using AI try both and see who preforms better with your hefiers. Good Luck

The only one I like is NPV. I think there are better choices than the rest. Primarily their sire. Instead of Danny Boy son, why not Danny. From what I can tell. Your really going after negative BW EPD. +2.2 is the average. Anything below that you should feel safe. CED is what I look at. You can find bulls in the +2 BW who are above +8 on CED. I agree with 6i6 that was proposed. Very popular sire, very few holes. I have been thinking about NPV and Bextor. Leaning towards Bextor next year. NPV does have a great Dam. Currently I have been using Danny Boy and New Day on my heifers. Take a gander at Final Answer or his son Pendleton. You may like their BW and performance.

I would probably go with Danny Boy from the list you've shown. I like his $EN numbers which make me think of easy keeper. But a lot depends on the genotype/phenotype of the animal being bred and what you're trying to improve.

The only bull on your list is NPV. For calving ease try one of the Ohlde bulls and you will not be disapointed. The homer calves come easy and have very high energy at birth and that is a big deal on first calf heifers to me.Missing Link is real good and so is Moderator. But the big picture on Ohlde cattle is females you will have in two years simply outstanding. GOOD LUCK.
