    Local Hereford Influence Sale Results

"if I ever meet an Angus breeder that doesn't sound like a preacher at a creek crossing hollering up a revival," Now that's funny Camp, I don't care who you are. I've got to give you a amen on that one. ;-)

    Simangus bull calf

Tryinhard, what you have to remember is that a young bull like that is like a teenage boy. He's got one thing on his mind and it's not eating. It's not the actual breeding that wears him down ( although 8 months is pretty young ) and keeps him from gaining weight. It's the...

Come on Camp, don't hold back. Tell us what you really think. As for me, Likes: Brafords, Herefords, Angus Dislikes: Holsteins, Corriente & Jersey's ;-)

    Opinions wanted - Part 2

I liked all of them, I think that either a Angus or Sim. bull would work well on them. The ear doesn't bother me, I prefer some ear on my mamma cows. If I had to cull just one it would be #3. I don't know if it's the picture or what but she doesn't look to be as big boned / framed, as the...

    Gentlest Bull

I've seen Gentle Bulls from every breed ( Wild ones too ) but over all I'd have to say that Brahmans are the best natured. ;-)

    E-Bay Cattle Naming Auction

Did you notice the post on the side? "Financing available, Only $209 per month" just to make easy on someone who really wants to name a calf. El Putzo, I'm going to have to undercut your price, I'll sell the nameing rights for $900 each and if they name a least 5 I'll drop the price down to...

    Latest pictures.

Thanks Shorty. The first two ( the ones with their mommas ) are out of a Angus bull. The calf groups are out of a limo. All their Moms are out of a Braford bull and Braham/Herdford/Simm crossed cows. This is the first calf crop out of the Angus we bought to put on our 2 year old heifers...

Post your best pic of a cow...yours or otherwise.

Bif, is that a cast net in the back of the truck? I've seen and used several on the Texas Gulf Coast but I was wondering what a Okie uses one for. ;-)

    2005 Black Herefords

Very nice, calves and picture also. Are they out of "Black Herefords" on both sides or is "Monty" running on some normal colored Herefords? ;-)

    $2.25 per pound

One of my brothers had a cow die while calving ( prolapse? ) last week, calf was fine. He works out of town and didn't have time to put it on a nurse cow, carried it to the sale the next day, brought $140. ;-)

    Lil Red Bramer Ruby

[We have had cows and calves get bitten by Copperheads, usually the leg, it swells up and gets stiff, but none have ever died from snakebite. The swelling goes down after a week or two. I agree, most bites in the leg area, not a lot of problems. I do remember back when I was a kid my Dad...

    Care to guess somemore

Thanks Campground, I've got high hopes for both of them. Both of their momma's are good milkers and both them are mild mannered. The red one is a real pet, the brindle one will let you walk around her and even touch her head / neck area most of the time. ;-)

    Care to guess somemore

Pretty close on your guesses. Both just turned 2 years old and are 7 months bred to a Black Angus bull. Both are out of a Braford bull. The red one's dam is a F-1 cross, Brahman / Hereford. The brindle one's ( Bez's fav. kind ) dam is a Brahman / Hereford cross with just a touch of...
