I purchased a 10' back rubber and soaked it with Gordon's back rubber stuff mixed with diesel fuel. I placed it at the only opening the cows can use to go between 2 pastures. My 2 bigger cows will walk through it with no problem, but my younger heifers won't go under for anything. They'll chase me down with a bucket of feed, but the heifers slam on breaks once I go under the back rubber.

Anyone else ever had this problem? Any other ideas?

That's honestly the only thing I haven't tried. They are so dead set on not crossing it I was scared they'd thirst to death. I've got to do something, the horse flies are eating em up!

Yep, hunger or thirst can be a powerful motivator. Once they go under a time or two they'll understand it's nothing to be scared of.
