What Kind of Hay should I buy?

Past few years I have bought Bermuda hay for our cows & Prairie for our Mules. Like to buy it from a neighbor/friend. But missed out this year on getting his Bermuda but he has plenty of Fescue $18.00, Fox-tail in Wheat Straw $18.00 & Prairie $25.00. I believe the Fescue was cut in May.

Any opinions on these hay choices for Preg Cows?

Prairie would be my first choice then fescue

I am assuming those are prices per bale. The real answer would be in the bale weights and nutrient test results. My uneducated guess would go with Dun but I much prefer educated decision rather than uneducated guesses.

It's going to be difficult to find better educated than Dun when it comes to cattle and feeding, unless it's Campground, Bez', Ollie or Caustic. I know I'm leaving some out, and I apologize in advance - no slight intended.

Maybe none of them - get them tested and weighed first. Then ask the question again - but showing the results first.

You do not need to import the Foxtail onto the property - burn it. That is one weed that never goes away once established it seems.
