Belgian Blue. Their Myostatin Gene is naturally inhibited giving them double the muscle.

I agree with you Alan. They look fake.
And if they are real whoever did that to those bulls should be ashamed. Thats gross...

They're absolutely real and no one did anything to them. It is a naturally occuring genetic mutation in Belgian Blue Cattle.

There is a 7 year old German kid with the same mutation.

Here's when he was a baby........http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5278028/

I suspect the doomsday group will claim it's bad and from eating double muscled beef and the double muscle group will claim credit for the great progress in human development

they say you are what you eat. I don't know about anybody else but at my age I could use one of those in my freezer... Make that freezers.Z

We've been entertaining the notion of introducing the double muscle into our herd to increase yield and increase tenderness.

How do the Belgian Blue compare with the Piedmontese, do they produce the tenderness factor that the Pieds do?

Any comments on putting one over a Angus or Herf.

Thanks....DMc

I think I would AI to the Angus or Herf. That critter, unless he's hollow, has to weigh 3000 lb.
Why don't you lke Angus and Herford cows???
