I think he'll be going to my neighbors place for dog food, I'll at least get some salmon in exchange.. beats digging a hole.

Sounds like a fair trade. Sorry he didn't come out of it. Well, its not a total loss, your friend gets some quality dog food and you will get some salmon.

His eyes look fine, He only had one swollen eye that was against the ground when he was pinned, the other one ought to be good.. He'll walk in circles in the middle of the corral too, and you'd think a blind calf would still think of eating, or a teat if his nose is right there.
 
His body may be shutting down. I had one that locked himself in a barn for a few days without water. Moved around like that for a couple days then just sat down and died. I hope yours does better.
