I am going to admit I bought Twitter to be chastised by all at a later date. :D I have it around $47 so we will see what happens. Also, bought a battery company and inverter company.

Luckily, I got out of Disney months ago. It was total luck. It wasn't doing much so we cashed out the covid gains in hopes of finding greener pastures. It has tanked, now.

Exciting times

My brother did not participate in TWTR. I say Elon has the golden thumb. He says he has lost his marbles. LoL We have a friendly wager on it. We will see...
I'm not into the stock market. If I was .
I would think about Elon's tendency to follow common sense and doing what's right over taking care of shareholders.
I don't mean that is a bad thing... seems to be working so far.. 🤔

Fidelity will be adding bit coin for 401ks later this year. It will have minimum holding time to prevent excessive trading that drives up expenses/fees for other buyers of the fund. Currently bitcoin is at 39,149 down 15% ytd and down 27% from year ago.

How do you buy bitcoin? Every time I've looked to see how to buy it the sites look like scams.

There's one of those machines where you can get cash with your credit or debit card at the convenience store where I get my breakfast burritos every morning. You can get bitcoin from it (or so I noticed on the sign; I haven't tried it).

I bet it goes up just off of accessibility. I'll probably bite. LoL

I've got 50k in a pension account that's not doing much. Been thinking of buying all Tesla stock with it just to see what it does. The only thing that scares me about Elon Musk's companies is that if something happens to him his companies will most likely go bust.

Better than 15 yrs ago a tv morning news show followed a young man (late 30s) from Europe to a Las Vegas casino. He had sold all of his possessions for nearly 150k and came to America to start over. He came up with the idea he would put it all on
1 spin of the roulette wheel. He was committed to the idea of going all in and that if he lost he'd start over totally from scratch. He put it all on red. He was so committed to the idea that he would lose it all and start over with nothing but the clothes on his back, that the expression on his face was just stunned silence and he was speechless when the ball on the spinning wheel actually stopped on red.
lol :)

Sweet when it works out that way. :)
Disney was down 15% last year and is down 25% ytd, so much depends on when you buy and when you sell.

I'm not going to tell you what to do. But you might want to consider buying some of it back. It's a solid company with a long history of success.
I think it's within a few % of its bottom now or next month and some what safe to buy now with the worst being over and is still a company with a future.
just my 2 cents

My big loser of the year is BABA. Should be a buy, I keep DCA down so hoping for the best. Gets discouraging when it keeps going down! Fortunately I am earning well and buying every week so should work out. Done well with cruise ship stocks, NRZ for dividends. Hilton has been good as has Ford. Have a lot of crypto, down about 25% this year on that but keep buying. It will come back. For those who are new to crypto you can now buy most of the major ones on Robinhood or can use Coinbase. Big debate about best way to buy and hold and the hardcore people will tell you to move your crypto to a wallet but those are pretty safe for a beginner. If you are new to it stick with the top 10 and preferably the top 2.

I'm definitely not brave enough to take my 401k and IRA and plunk them down on TESLA too. Gotta play it a little safe. The cattle are a big enough gamble.

That is a good point. I would be a lot more interested if they brought their dividend back and stuck to talking about profits. 😄

"Have any of you dealt with the government I Bonds ?" I have I Bonds for me and the wife. They yield over 7% at the present and fixing to go to 9%. 10K max investment per person unless you want to get a little more through an IRS refund on your taxes.
You have to buy them through Treasury Direct. The site will explain how they work and how to buy. For a government website, it is actually fairly easy to understand and to buy.
