Nice looking calves. What's the primary breeds used?
Thank you. My bulls are all either straight Simmental or Simmental x Angus cross. The cow herd is getting to show more of that influence every year but the base was mostly Blonde d'Aquitaine.

Yes, it's not good right now. In fact the way cow prices are falling I'm going to hang onto the opens and culls after preg testing and watch the market for awhile. Perhaps after the US election things will settle down.

(I thought I'd posted but it seems the web gremlins ate it LOL.)
Dandy calves.
Noted what looked like RFID buttons...are they optional or mandatory in Canada?

Thank you. Yes, it is mandatory for cattle to have rfid tags when they leave the place of origin.

Deserved accolade sir. (y) If memory serves correct and based on the calf color your Simmental bulls are Fleckvieh? Used a fullblood decades ago (Bar 11 Ueli x Apricot.) Calves were impressive but bwts killed a few cows. Hand full of retained dtrs were impressive on all accounts.
Mandatory RFID tags remain a controversial topic in the USA.

Great group of calves. You do an awesome job.
76 Bar - yes decades ago, the old Fullblood bulls were way too big for the normal American British cows. Killed lots of them! CE is not much of an issue any more - for PB or Fullbloods.
