We sold 14 fall calves and 1 big yearling. Was very satisfied. Had a few late calves that were weaned at less than 5 months. The fall calves were 40 days weaned . Had been on the wheat that was burning up. The big yearling had an abscess in his flank area when we sold his mates off the cows. So kept him and doctored it and waited till it healed. He weighed 960 lbs and brought a $188.00.
The calves weighed 1 at 490 lbs to 4 steers at 631 lbs. The whole group averaged $1,333.00. The barn owner is concerned about yearling prices. He said from his conversations with buyers and others he feels there could be an adjustment coming.

What do you think he meant by adjustment?

From talking to feeder buyers and lot managers he feels there could be a lowering in feeder prices. If interest keeps climbing and prices keep increasing and if grains rise they are saying there will likely be some adjustments in prices paid.

Auctioneers don't worry about prices setting new record highs, so obviously he saying the adjustment will be downward.
Commodity prices are always fluctuating, once you set a record high it either has to set a new record high or drop.
There's an old market trader saying "Up the staircase, down the elevator." (the trip down is faster than the trip up)
