Sold some more cows this week. 9-11 y/o's. Good shape but not fat. Weaned calves over 30 days ago. Where we sell on Tuesday there is another sale owned by different owner on Monday. We took ours Monday evening and after dumping them off stopped at a convenience store. One of the cow buyers in this region was in there and said the top cows had brought $102.50 but most $.95-$1.00. When we picked up the check some of hers brought $1.14.00-$1.15.00. Was surprised. Looks like cows have rallied some this week. Most had nothing wrong we are over our limit. We have plenty of grass but a limit to what we can take care off as we add another candle.

I bought cows today and yesterday. Most of them in that 9-10 year old range so we balanced each other out. Had we both bought or sold it would have changed how the earth rotates. Things would have just spun out of control. One of the ones from yesterday was a 1,365 pound red brockle face cow bred 6 months. They sold her by the pound. Cost me $0.91 ($1,242). The last10 cows I have an $1,147 average. All 5, 6, or 7 months bred. 9 of the 10 weigh over 1,200 pounds.

We dumped 200 today, empties, lates, bad bags, suckers, old cows, 2s to 12s. Averaged just under $1600 before expenses and 1150 lbs.50 of them were $1300 bred cows last fall or $2500 pairs this spring that weaned some pretty good calves for the most part.
