Is this Smartweed or something else? I thought smartweed had pink flowers.

Don't know what that is, but I have a bunch of it growing in a shady damp area near the river, and it has flat taken that area over this year. It also just laughs at Remedy.

Kinda looks like stilt grass (Japanese Stilt Grass) to me. What has me guessing is most stilt here has a pink bloom.

Brush some of it on your arm, if it's smart weed you'll know

Is that why it's called smart weed? I always wondered, I don't ever recall getting up against it since it is so low to the ground.

That's the reason, it "smarts" right powerful when you get in it. A lot like stinging nettles
Did some searching and there is a variety of it with white flowers

Another nickname is water Bermuda here.
I have almost eradicated it from my place using Remedy mixed with 2-4-D.
You have to stay after it as it spreads by root and seed.
Some places here took years with the patch getting smaller every year when it would come back.
