Might I ask why you were thinking of using him? I can give you some worthwhile info on him. He has high birthweight EPD and no milk. He produces some of the most eye appealing calves you ever saw but his daughters wont give enough milk to raise a kitten. Calves will have good growth and eye appeal but I would only think about using him as a terminal sire. One other option would be show steers. I would never keep a heifer out of him though. They simply wont make the kind of cow you would want.
I have not used either one of those bulls. I have seen many Cookie Monster progency. Cookie Monster was a popular bull here several years ago. He produced some good daughters but he also sires probablly 2-1 horned animals than polled. Never used the Deon bull and as far as I know have never seen any progency out of him either. Neither of those bulls or the Beef bull are being used that much now in the United States.
Try Kodiak -- he was just cleared for Australia. Not homo either way, but produces sound, functional cattle with lots of rib, nice front ends and plenty of muscle. Also very docile.
And take the Beef and run it over with your truck!
