Never done it before but got my corn picked early this year so decided to give it a try. Done pretty good got 10 rolls a acre. Now I just hope the cows will eat it.

I bed my weaning shed with it. They eat a right sharp of it, as well as the stalks make a good base.

What kind of baler!

Vermeer i series. Wasn't sure how it was going to handle the stalks but it done a good job.

I will feed them along with good grass hay to the cows that calved in sept later in the winter.

BE sure and give them a protein/energy supplement or they'll burn more calories digesting it than they'll get from it. Very low in protein, energy and TDN but they'll be full anyway.

I get it in large square bales at the hay auction. It's easy to scatter as bedding. I never intend for them to eat it. They just always seem to eat some.
