Husband is planning a trip from Illinois to SD & ND - Looking for 7+ frame angus cattle - is planning to stop at Hoff's and Schaff's. Any other breeders between here and there come to mind that would have what he's looking for?? Thanks for the help.

You can stop and pick the Mrs. up on your way, I have her convinced that any overnight trip to look at cows is considered a vacation, and that gets me off the hook for a few months!
Dee, and Cornstalk are both in SD, and could perhaps point you in a direction. Have a good trip, and I hope you don't come home empty.

No need for anyone to come home empty. I have a heifer in Bowman, ND I have to get home. :D

That was a pretty good list Joe. In SD...
Hoff's Scotch Cap Angus, Bison http://www.scotchcap.com
Assman Land & Cattle, Mission http://www.alcmission.com
Koupal Angus, Dante http://www.koupalangus.com
I used Koupal Angus bulls last year, and this year I have 7 Assman bulls. I was very impressed with the disposition of the Koupals, and the calves from the Koupal Angus are looking good at 3 months of age now. They were in just as good shape when I pulled them from the pasture as they were when they went in.
In ND.....

In IL...

That should give you alot of browsing to do before the hubby leaves. Have a safe trip.

Wasn't there a big dispersal sale in northern Illinois of an old Angus breeder? I used to live in that area, but couldn't recall the breeder.

Thanks for all the replies - the key to my post was the size of the cattle - want them to be big and have lots of big in their pedigrees. Looks like a great list to choose from -

AngusGuy - we are in West Central Illinois, too - but cattle aren't big enough framed around here for our liking - unless you've been keeping a secret!!!

He's not taking a trailer on this trip - just scouting out the territory and possibilities. I can't get off work to go with him this time - I always thought cattle trips WERE vacation.

Joe - printed out the replies for hubby to read - he wanted me to send you a note and let you know he really doesn't want to travel alone - just how cute is your wife before he decides to swing thru Minnesota??!!!
