Nice pics - great country - beautiful mountains - Lake Atitlan was completely undeveloped the last time I was there and it was a rough trip to get there.

The civil war was in full progress (more like ethnic cleansing)

The people are great as long as you stay out of the big city and the weather is top notch.

Last time I was there I was placed in a small cell in the jail on top of the mountain in Guatemala City.

Escorted to the border in chains and literally thrown at gun point into Tapachula, Mexico border crossing and told to never return.

Been a while since I was back - I am now harder to catch - just an old chicken now. LOL

You need to post more pics of this area and the animals - they are well worth looking at

Best to all

WOW.... I am so sorry you had to go thru that!!! the country as you know has changed plenty and yes anything outside the Capital City is worth going to. I will look thru some older photos I have that I might of taken while I was there recently married April 2010. I will upload some shorty . I have to ask why did they escort you out of the country. if you don't mind sharing .

My father in law when he was younger in his 30's was captured by the Guerilla and was wounded he was in the Hacienda Police. Which is no longer in existance.
