i have some very good f1 tigerstripe cows that are getting old.. and it wont be long before they are sold and replaced. my question is, what average quality heifer could i expect to get from these cows from a black limosin bull?

i dont know the epds etc of these animals, but they are all better than the average run of the mill, and have been some very good cows.

any thoughts appreciated. thanks

If your set on retaining a 3 way cross heifer, use a more maternal breed. If you want black, use Angus. You also might consider breeding back to one the breeds used to produce the F1.

Crossing too many times actually reduces hybrid vigor, and without enough maternal you could have some pretty poor cows.

Limos are known for their lean high yielding carcass, not for their maternal or fertility.
