There is a prison riot at super max US Federal Prison Lee in Lee Co. VA which is 13 miles from where I live. Several taken to the hospital and every rescue in 3 counties are there. Reported to me that the riot is over the confederate flag. Isn't that about enough of this flag stuff.

LEE COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – Multiple law enforcement crews are at the United States Penitentiary in Lee County, Virginia after reports of a fight inside the prison

News Channel 11's Kylie McGivern reports Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons confirmed his officers were on their way to the prison. Parsons said prison officials have called for "as many rescue squads as we can get."

Virginia State Police say 4 people have been taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Two of the four who were taken by ambulance were admitted to Holston Valley Medical Center. News Channel 11's Lauren Haviland observed two ambulances, one from Lee County and another from Jonesville, VA arriving at the emergency entrance of the Kingsport medical center. Wellmont spokesperson Jim Wozniak told News Channel 11 that there are 4 patients from Lee County Penitentiary at Holston Valley. Wozniak told us the injuries to 3 of the 4 are "not very serious". The condition of the 4th has not been released.

USP Lee is a high security men's prison operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. It's located in the Lee County Industrial Park. It is home to almost 1,700 inmates.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons describe it as a high security penitentiary with an adjacent minimum security lockup.

PENNINGTON GAP, Va.—Injuries have been reported as a result of an incident at the U.S. prison in Lee County, Virginia.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the prison requested as many rescue squad units as possible due to injuries. Several law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police, were also dispatched to the scene.

There's no word on the number of total injuries or whether those injured were prisoners or staff members. What caused the injuries has not been confirmed, although it has been reported to be a fight.

Wellmont Health System spokesman Jim Wozniak said there are six patients from the prison at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. The conditions of those patients was not available, Wozniak said.

A Mountain States Health Alliance spokesperson said none of its hospitals have received patients from the incident.

VSP spokeswoman Corinne Geller confirmed troopers were called to the facility to assist with traffic and exterior perimeter security.

A nearby resident said on Twitter that there were helicopters, ambulances and police at the scene, which is located at the Lee County Industrial Park.

The resident also said they heard a "loud boom" around 6:15 p.m.

The prison is a high security facility with more than 1,600 inmates, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. There is a also an adjacent minimum security camp at the prison.

Don't sound like much to worry about.
The only danger is to the people on the inside. I toured the prison before it opened and I think there is no way out unless they let you out.
 
There is a way out and some of them just found it. They will be some take the US Marshall tour of prisons. Or they will wind up in Marion shackled to a grill.

1700 imates here, wonder how many are involved. The news reporters are there now but they didnt know anything yet either.
