PETA had made it plain they want to get rid of all domesticated animals, including cats and dogs. They are even against guide dogs for the disabled. They say domesticated animals are "unnatural." They spend only a tiny amount of their budget on animal welfare and the rest goes to promotions that draw attention to PETA and, thus, get more donations. They are in court defending their charity status, though. Some group found out they had given money to the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and, since ALF has been deemed a domestic terrorist group by the FBI, demanded their tax free status be taken away. IF they lose that, it might cut down on some of the donations rich people give them. It probably won't make a difference to the kids that support them. There are hundreds of different anti-meat groups out there, the Physicans Committee for Responsible Medicine is one of them. The beef checkoff has been one place we could come up with the money to educate consumers, but I guess that's going away. Do you ever visit some of those vegan boards? They're sad and REALLY misinformed about where/how their food is produced.
