Pelicans in Kansas?

Help Support CattleToday:

I'm on the coast. Couple winters ago an injured brown pelican landed in the pasture with the cows. Sure had them stirred up and the hair on their back standing up. Like they never seen one. Pelicans fly over every day. I guess cows never look up.

What do they taste like? :)

A Nicaraguan that worked for me said he has ate them in the Dominican Republic. Strong fishy taste. But down there, if it crawls, swims or walks, it gets ate. Youl'd never see the light of day again if you got caught killing one here.

That's a good sign for us in Louisiana, when the white pelicans show up so do the king mackerel.
Global Warming. Maybe you need to call NMFS and apply for a Kansas Kingfish Permit.

Nice looking little lake you have there! Get many ducks?

It's a fully stocked 60 acre watershed lake, the last one they built around here. Lots of ducks, geese, egrets, the vultures are always there and evidently now pelicans. The fish are mainly bass, crappie, catfish & bluegill.
