Years ago we tried Shorthorn. Really liked them and would include them in a crossbreeding program if we could find the moderate framed animals from 30 years ago that had less emphasis on show. Once again, the proven bull gene pool is too shallow for my taste.

Besides hereford and red or black angus, what other british breeds have you tried and what have been your experience with them?
I had use Shorthorns bulls with my comercial herd in the past (15 years ago) and I really was happy with them, but I prefer Continentals. Now I'm starting to use Bulls 1/2 blood Simmental- 1/2 blood Red Angus in my commercial cows to add some English blood to the herd.
