I currently have a JD 5520. I am looking at a 5625 w/cab. I am considering keeping my open station tractor and purchasing the 5625 w/cab. Is there any advantage with the open station tractor doing certain jobs?

When I use a broadcast seeder or anything else that takes a hand to operate it rather thrn hydrayllic or electrical, I prefer an open station.

Main deal is if the A/C goes out in the cab tractor you cannot operate it in summer down here. Period.

All that glass makes for a lot of heat.

Open top is also better if your running things like a 3 point bush hog in and around trees.

On the Kubota 5030 I have a cab and a loader. Hate that combination as you have a hard time seeing the loader bucket when raised because it goes higher than the roof of the cab.

Any time you need to get on and off repeatedly, going through gates, digging post holes/fencing , stuff like that. The cab slows you down and can be tedious.

Other than that I do enjoy my cab. Someone once told me cabs increase operator productivity 30%.
Also your empties don't roll off into the field as much.
