Help Support CattleToday:

we had running water in the kitchen as long as I remember but we had an outhouse until the late 60's actually it was there til prob 72 when the twister hit the farm luckily the house made it but took all the barns and outbuildings within a week we had a new barn and all the neighbors helped build it

Ever carry a bucket of water into the house and have the dipper freeze in it because the fire went out early?

Our spring house was up on the hill from our house and my dad piped the water into the house.
We had a kitchen sink made out of wood. The water ran all time through it and out a drain and into the creek.
Remember one time the sink froze up and the water made the whole kitchen floor about one inch thick with Ice. Never will forget that. Went to build a fire in the kitchen fell down and slid under the table and still got a scar on the top of my head. Good old days, I think not.
