Oats are cheap right now in my area. I am thinking about feeding these to my developing bulls and my wet cows. Anyone have experience with oats? Do they need to be rolled/ground to be digested effectively? Was thinking about using at 10 lb per head per day with free choice hay.

It's all I feed to bottle calves (hope I never have any, but inevitable), on up to about 250 pounds. It's normally not cost effective for me to feed them. If your getting them cheap, then go for it. I have often thought they would make a decent creep feed, but I'm maxed out on storage space for bulk products, so I just feed what I'm already storing.
