I have a couple heifers that are in great body condition they have all the minerals they need and they are beefmasters for those of you who may want to know but anyway it seems like I have never seen them cycling for some reason I dont know if they got bred and I didnt know it or what anyway tell me what you think any information would be helpful

Have theim preg checked and if they're open, palpate the ovarys to make sure they are functioning

I had a similar thing happen a few years ago and none were bred. Vet couldn't really explain it but I had no choice but to have them preg check. They all had good pregs afterward but I never figured out why I didn't catch them in a cycle.

I have had the same problem. They seem to only be active at night especialy when it gets hot.
You can use a patch or marker just like doing AI. I have even seen people put ball markers on their bulls.

Yesterday I sent off 4 blood samples to Bio-tracking in
Moscow Idaho to check to see if 4 of our embryo recipients
are pregnant or not. The test is cheap - I think it was
2 or 3 dollars each & you get the results fast by email.
Recips should be tested 32 days after the embryo was created;
AI can be tested at 25 days post insemination. I take a blood
sample from the underside of the tail into the red top
vacuum tube. It certainly beats hauling them to the vet
or paying for a farm visit.

How do you order these tests?

First you go to http://www.biotracking.com or call them at 208-882-9736 and ask for their info/instructions re how to collect the
blood and how to send it to them(not an extra postage item).
They will mail the instructions to you.

Then go to http://www.air-tite.com and order the items you need,
i.e. the collection needles, needle holder(get a dozen) and
red top vacuum tubes ---it's not expensive. Their phone is
1-800-231-7762.

After a few "stabs" it's not hard to locate that vein underneath
the cow's tail - but you need someone to hold up the tail
for you. The animal doesn't seem to notice much---must not
be many nerves in that particular spot.

Good luck.
