Well we like share when things go good but it doesn't always happen that way.
First heifer of the year calved early this morning.
Twins, one dead, buzzards had gotten to it and pecked it's eyes. The second calf was alive but in closer inspection the front legs were deformed. One leg was curved in and then curved out sideways at the first joint. The other leg appeared more normal but curved in, as it tried to stand it but couldn't, seemed to twist around almost like the leg was attached backwards.
We disposed of it too as we didn't believe it was something it would out grow.
The sire of the calves is a half brother to the sire of the heifer.
