They say timothy is the last of the cool seasons to head. I have gamma grass that has went to seed. Therefore, i'm not even sure what if this is a cool or warm season, but most of it is just now hitting boot stage. I did find a good seed head though. It doesnt look like a bunch grass, but that may be because they are new seedlings. Any guesses? Next to the fescue.



 
After an e-mail, some phone calls, and harassing all the old timers. It looks like a smaller less robust version of Reed's canary grass. Now that could be because they are new volunteers and will strengthen with time, or a different variety. Could be completely different, but that's the thought. I suppose having to look up new grasses is a good problem to have with the new grazing managment.
