Just wondering what everyone is using?

I've been using purina and seems like they go through it way to fast.

Feed Kent mostly. Tried some Purina W&R recently. They ate it just as quickly..Cows are just about to come in off stalks and stsart feeding hay, perhaps it will slow a bit.

Which Purina mineral are you using? Wind & Rain? Our cows have been very consistent with thier intake (we are currently at 3.8oz/hd/day). We use All-Season 4, Hi-Mag, and All-Season w/Altosid depending on the time of year. One of the main factors when detrmining consumption is that it is imperative that you never let them run out. If this happens, cattle have the tendency to gorge on it. It is pretty simple to determine consumption... At 4oz/hd/day, you will use roughly 90 lbs per year per cow. I always figure around 100 lbs just due to the fact that even young calves will mimic mom and start licking it.

Wind and rain 7.5 complete then I use some hi mag then fly.

TB, any thoughts or knowledge on KNS Inc. Mineral? Being used by a lot of large seedstock operations in many regions

We have an Independent dealer here that has started carrying "Faithway" products. They are based in Guntersville, AL (which is a beautiful area by the way). Do any of our CT members use this and if so, what are your opinions?

We use the Purina Wind and Rain and we go through about a 50lb bag a week for 31 cows. That's in line with what the manufacture recommends of 4 lbs per day per head. We do not offer any additional salt block.

Had to google them as they are primarily up your way. Looks like they are trying to make a variety of minerals and cover all the bases. I only looked at the guarantee on the beef cow mineral with chelates, It does contain chelates but also has micro minerals coming from oxides which are pretty worthless. Based on the prices they quote on their website question the actual amount of chelates in the formulation but even some is better than none and the price is not bad at all compared to prices I see down here.

We started using the KNS pre-calving / rebreeding AAC beef mineral. We started using it in September. Have for long used the Purina wind AV4 tubs, which did great for us, especially in one area, AI conception!! But it was costing me my left kidney I swear. I'd like to send you the label for the KNS mineral we use but I havn't shared a pic on here in a while

I've used purina , and it seemed like they went through it fast also, and at twice the price of our usual , stopped. It did weather well, and I believe its good mineral, so maybe adding some salt might work. Using a local custom mix now, for the time being.

That should have been 4 ounces/day/cow.

Vitaferm is what we've used for about 2 years. Very satisfied with it. Tried several others but Vita Ferm has been the most economical quality mineral we've used.

What happened to him? I didn't get on here for a couple months and when I come back he's gone.
