I look at it this way. I can take this $3600 used trailer we bought in 2004 and dump about $4000 into it. Then it will be like new and surely worth more than those $7000 rusted out buckets of crap on craigslist and the internet. You have been looking for one too, correct? I can't find anything 24' long that isn't a complete piece of crap for less than 7K. It is ridiculous. Base price on a new Tavalong Advantage 24' is $11,500! Holy schickies! It is an investment. Pure capital accumulation. On top of that, I'll know that I can hook on and go without worrying about something breaking on the road for the next 10 yrs. I've used it without any repairs except new tires since I bought it. I think it has earned a little love. ;)

I bought some of these (from a different place) to do the wire terminations in the junction boxes. I think they will be pretty sweet. Additions, changes, etc will be simple as snap and unsnap. They aren't water tight but they will be in a box with conduit.

Every wire goes down the top center of the trailer. Just tag on to the one you want and hide it in the tubing. I drilled a hole and put in a rubber grommet under each box every tube where a wire needs to go.

I'll pull it all before paint.

i keep hoping for a deal...mine will have rusted to the grnd by then im sure.

mines beyond what yer doin

I can't do any of that stuff you're doing 4X4 but it's impressive as he!!. Good to see somebody doing things right. That engineer showing in your design and construction. My biggest expense would probably have been duct tape.

Just couldn't resist test fitting the LED's. Trailer will go to blast and paint in the next day or two. I have one or two welds left that need to be done.

Gonna look sexy in the end with silver decals and silver pen stripe.

Delivery man brought me four new complete brake assemblies, new slam latch springs, and a new serial number decal to put on it.

Trailer will be black. It is cheaper than silver metallic or I would. Going with black paint and silver decals and striping. It would be an over in the summer but we don't use it much in the summer. Going to black powder coat the rims and put chrome center caps in them to cover the nasty hubs. That will match nicely.

Back in black....I hit the sack......

Inside dome lights work great.

I think these LED brake lights will detach retinas of the tailgating jerks. ;)

Things left:
1) Hubs and all new brake assemblies.
2) Finish the trim re-install.
3) Powder coat the rims.
4) Install flooring.

Getting closer! Appears that I'll have just over $3K in the total over-haul. Bought the trailer around 2004 for $3600. Pretty sure it is worth way more now than those two numbers added together since any 24' trailer for sale online for anything less than $8000 is a piece of crap. :lol2:

That thing turned out great.

Thanks. I wouldn't recommend painting an mostly enclosed trailer black unless you plan on putting lights in it. Holy CRAP it is dark. I knew this going in....but my Lord....working in there is like giving an elephant a rectal exam...can't...see...schidt! :lol2: I might have to roll the side panels Silver after we try it for a while.

Getting closer. Just lack powder coat on the wheels, chrome hub covers, new lug nuts, wiring in the new brake assemblies, and some AL diamond plate on the front panel and fender fronts for rock chippage.
