I wintered these girls on pasture until a couple weeks ago to try and get some pasture growing. We got 3+" of rain this week and the pens were a mud hole. Nice to get them out on grass. Will bring 5 in to A.I. at the end of the month with the cows. Three of them are half sibs to the heifer bull (True North) so they will be turned out with cows and my next most calving ease bull.

I helped haul replacement heifer for B this afternoon. He has a small feedlot near town. We hauled them to a pasture about 5 or 6 miles away. 12 trailer loads at 15 head per load. There was some bulls already in with them. I think that he had already AI'ed the heifers and those few bulls were just clean up. Still a lot of heifers to calf out next spring.

These girls are set up to start calving late February 2026. Mostly A.I. bred to S Wrangler 930. The heifers are mostly sired by S Right Time 7861 (464 and 490) and Sitz Resilient (469 and 478). The ones without number freeze brands are owned by friends of ours that we partner with on several pastures.

The critter on the far right is a June born steer and will be headed to the feedlot in September or October. He's kind of a little pud, so the more he can frame up before going on feed the better.IMG_20250816_122815.jpg
