Is anyone else out there having problems with cattle being hit by lightning?!! Within the past 2 weeks we have had 3 cows get hit by lightning! What the heck, eh! We have never had anything get hit by lightning until this year. Its really strange.

several years ago lost 3 cows and 1 calf in one night due to lighting hitting a tree they were under which was also against a fence it is just a freak thing that happens every once in a while

about 10 years ago we lost 12 cows and 1 bull from one bolt that danced from cow to cow to bull. before that it had been about 8 or 9 years since we had had a lightning strike and now it seems like its 1-2 cows every 2-3 years. not to mention tons of pine trees.

We had several cows spontaniously abort after a severe Lightning storm that caused one tree to explode into shards. We reviewed our vaccine program, and all possible diseases in our area and that seemed like the only workable explanation. very strange.
