So far this wet season (we're in Queensland, Aust) we've lost 5 head to lightning, including a stud heifer. We lose some every year, often cow and calf pairs. Once we lost a whole string of cows standing against a barbed wire fence, backs to the rain.
On the plus side though, we havent had our usual outbreak of three day sickness yet. Last year it was very bad and we lost a few despite running around watering and feeding them. Considering the huge rain Queensland has had in general, its surprising that I havent heard anything about an outbreak.
