Leave 4-H Kids Alone, PETA

And, as 4-H youth were busy putting the final touches on their projects, animal rights activists were busy bullying our nation's finest young people. This year at the Colorado State Fair, there were posters hung up by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) stating their definition of 4-H:
"hellish for animals,
hazardous to the environment,
heart attack-inducing and
hypocritical for teaching kids to care about only certain animals and to disregard others."

PETA was rejected to post the same posters and show a documentary at the Texas State Fair. Meanwhile, in Kansas, PETA was accepted as a vendor at the upcoming state fair in Hutchinson, where they plan to display the posters and show a graphic video. However, they are required to shield the video from those passing by the booth. Interested parties would have to request to view the video.

I think it is time for us 4-H supporters to locate and contact PETA supporters and let them know exactly how we feel.

I stopped by 4 livestock shows this summer. PETA was at two of them. Only taking pictures and talking to anyone that would actually listen. Now that I think about it. The two they came to were youth oriented. The other two were open shows.

Anyone attending this, let me know if PETA was there.

SALT LAKE CITY -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has decided not to show a graphic documentary about slaughterhouses at the Utah State Fair.
PETA spokesman Matt Bruce says the group had planned to show the video at state fairs across the county, but decided to focus on one-on-one conversations in Utah instead.

New Documents: PETA Killed a Near Record-Breaking 95 Percent of Adoptable Dogs and Cats in its Care During 2011
Hypocritical Animal Rights Group Brings Pet Death Toll To 27,751
Washington, DC — Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online, obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request, showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed a staggering 95.9 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2011. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the notorious animal rights group has continued killing adoptable animals at its Norfolk, VA headquarters, at an average of 37 pets every week.
